The Azat of Central Asia

An update on our work among the Azat People.

Due to the support of Morrison Heights, both financially and prayerfully, work has begun on a Medical Clinic for the Azat People as well as a road that will allow for easier travel between villages. Take a look at the good work happening here:

Unreached and Unengaged with the Gospel of Christ

Unreached, Unengaged People Groups (or UUPG's) have no access to the Gospel of Christ.

The Azat of Central Asia is one such people group. There are approximately 3,600 UUPGs in the world today.  Almost 400 of these exist in the region of Central Asia marking it (along with South Asia) as the least reached area of the world.

There are a variety of reasons a group may be unreached and unengaged, but God made it clear that it is the responsibility of the church to take the Gospel to these. It is not an easy task, but it is a good and worthy one.
Oftentimes UUPG's...

  • Live in remote areas that are difficult to travel to.
  • Suffer from government suppression of the Gospel
  • Have no materials (Bibles, Jesus Film, other audio or video materials) in the language of the people
  • Have no outside Christian influence from churches or other entities
  • Have no believers from within the people group

Islam and Communism in Central Asia

Through many years of communistic rule, an attempt was made to silence religions of all type.  When the Soviet Union fell a new found freedom was experienced among the countries of Central Asia.  Most of its inhabitants reverted to what they believed were their cultural and religious roots and reclaimed the religion of Islam.  Today the majority of the population of Central Asia consider themselves Sunni Muslims.

Pray for the Azat

Please join us in praying for the Azat in Central Asia.  Please pray that God will raise up His people and break our hearts for what breaks His, a lost and fallen world.  Please pray specifically for access to be granted to those that are seeking His Truth.  Will you consider going to the Azat of Central Asia?  Will you give generously to those entities that are going?   Will you be obedient?  To God be the glory!
