Adoption & Foster Care Ministry

I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. John 14:18

Hearts of H.O.P.E.

Helping Orphans through Placement and Evangelism
Today there are over 143 million children around the world with no parent to protect and love them. In the U.S. alone there are 122,000 children available for adoption out of the half million in foster care. God loves every single one of them. They belong to Him. Hearts of H.O.P.E. exists for waiting children and their families.

Do you have a heart for children around the world who have been orphaned or placed in foster care? Hearts of Hope is looking for caring individuals who would like to be involved in establishing an adoption and foster care ministry at Morrison Heights Baptist Church. The goals of Hearts of Hope are to provide resources for families interested in adoption or foster care and to support those families who have adopted or foster children already. If you are interested in being a part of Hearts of Hope please contact Nancy Dent at Nancybeth59@gmail.com or (601) 572-1789.

Nancy's Story:
In November 1959, Mary and Bill Conner went to visit the Mississippi Children’s Home in Jackson, Mississippi.  After four miscarriages, they had come to MCH looking for a baby to complete their little family.  In the last crib on the right, they found a smiling, chubby, little girl with bright green eyes, and they decided that they wanted to bring her home to live with them more than anything.  Of course, that little girl was me.

My earliest memories are of my mother telling me about the day they adopted me.  I thank God that He lead Mom and Dad to MCH that day.  Needless to say, adoption is very near and dear to my heart.  I am so excited about being a part of Hearts of H.O.P.E. I have been searching for a way to minister to adoptees and their families as well as prospective adopted parents for many years.  I believe that this ministry is what God has been preparing me for, and I can’t wait to get started!!!  I am praying for other men and women who also feel called to the orphaned and the needy.  We are in the organizational stage now, but I hope by summer to have resources in place and our website up and running.  Stay tuned…God is about to do something awesome!!!!
