A Word From Our Pastor

Dr. Greg Belser

Prayer Conference

I hope your schedule will permit you to attend both morning and evening this Sunday as well as the bonus session (!) on Monday night.  I believe the services will be helpful and powerful in your lives on many levels.  I am grateful that our choir has agreed to provide leadership in all three services and that alone is worth the price of admission.  Bring a friend.

Summer is Almost Over

I’ve been eavesdropping on several conversations with school teachers over the last week and the “buzz” has centered around the end of summer.  For those without school connections or children at home, summer continues for a few more weeks, but the teachers know differently.  The chatter signals the end of summer and the return of summer traveling.  I look forward to seeing everyone again!

It also signals the return of our college students who have spent the summer at home or in mission endeavors around the globe.  There will be a new freshman class to reach and assimilate into our ministry as well.  I can’t wait until they get here.

Budget Planning

August brings us to the threshold of our budget planning process for 2011.  (Does anyone remember Y2K?)  The job of our Finance Committee is to assign dollars where they can best serve the kingdom of Christ and reach the most people with the gospel.  There are many difficult decisions that lie ahead and always more ideas than dollars to finance them.  Pray for this process and the continued financial support of our church through these last 5 months of the year.  May God bless us richly with wisdom and many souls for Christ.

FAITH Evangelism Training

We will be beginning a new semester of FAITH evangelism training in late August as well as continuing to dedicate a Saturday morning to knocking on the doors of our neighbors in Clinton.  I hope you will say yes to your involvement in the coming days and join with the Morrison Heights family in making a difference where we live.  God is faithful to lead and reward His children.
